Ryan is a freelance filmmaker based in Milwaukee, WI. His music videos have been featured in festivals and prominent music blogs across the country, while his camera work has been in SXSW premieres of The Blood Is At The Doorstep (2017), Brewmaster (2017), and We Are Not Ghouls (2022). Recently he acted as Director of Photography and Producer on Plucked (2019), a feature-length documentary detailing the theft of the Lipinski Stradivarius, an official selection of the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. He's currently in development on a narrative feature titled Among Wild Beasts. Based on true events, the film centers around the unsolved murder of a Catholic Priest in a small parochial farming community, while acting as Cinematographer the Narrative feature The Good Land, slated to begin principal photography in June of 2023.
Ryan graduated Summa Cum Laude in film production (BFA) and cum laude in film studies (BA) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a two-time recipient of a Brico Forward Fund grant.
